TRIATHLON - On the 8th November 2016 the pupils took part in a very successful triathlon.  They all participated in three different activities. The final activity was a run in which the whole school took part all together.

The whole day was great fun and the pupils made a tremendous effort.

Triathlon update.  Fabulous news £1000 raised.  You are all super stars. Fabulous

Once again our pupils have exceled themselves.

Recently Year 5 and 6 entered a short story competition run by Caldicot Writers group. The story had to start with the words:-

‘ I hadn’t noticed the door before...’

All the entries were good but the stories from the six finalists were of a very high standard. The Caldicot Writers were full of praise.

The finalists were:

Year 6

Winner Jana Prelevic

Runner up Alfie Burnes

Runner up Luke Roffey

Year 5

Wnner: Noah Archer

Runner Up: Cody Huntley

Runner Up: Evieanna Taylor

At the presentation in Caldicot library the stories from the  winning entrants were read out. Absolutely fabulous. Well done.

Castle Park started the day with a carousel of activities; Welsh folk dancing, Welsh quiz, Welsh speaking, drawing, painting daffodils and Welsh food.
The afternoon was filled with the Eisteddfod. Each class took part with songs, poems or dancing. There were also individual or group performances. The  Eisteddfod finished with the crowning of the bard. That is the child who produced the best piece of writing. This was won by Jana Prelevic from Year 6 with a wonderful poem written in Welsh. Da iawn Jana and everyone who took part.
Also big thank you to Mrs Punshon AND  CRIW CYMRAEG who organised the Eisteddfod.

On Friday 3rd March Castle Park Primary celebrated world book day.  It was a fabulous day with lots of costumes and books to look at. Even the staff joined in.

Most of the pupils brought their favourite stories to share. We had a short assembly so everyone could see all the costumes.

Well done mums, dads grandparents etc for the effort made.
